Wateraid World Water DayCelebrate World Water Day.

On Friday, March 22, I am celebrating World Water Day with my children, with my Global Team of 200 sisters, with WaterAid, and with the WORLD. What is World Water Day? It’s an empowering day established by the United Nations to look at water issues around the world.

As a Global Team of 200 member, I’ve been challenged to think about what World Water Day means to me.

To me…

Water World Day is about raising awareness…raising our consciousness…about the 11% of the world’s population that do not have safe water to drink. Every single person on planet Earth deserves to have access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. Today is about WAKING UP and TAKING ACTION!

Join the Celebration.

Here are a few easy things you can do to join the World Water Day celebration and help us raise awareness for the 780 million people on this planet that do not have access to clean water…

1. Follow and join the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #WorldWaterDay2013.

2. Follow WaterAid America on Twitter and Facebook and share their tweets and Facebook posts on the #20ways that Water Is Just The Beginning of the road out of poverty.

3. Join the World Water Day G+ hangout on Friday, March 22, 2013 with WaterAid America, Water.org, Charity Water, Water for People, People Water, and Whole World Water. We’ll be discussing the world’s water crisis at large, and how we can take action.

4. Watch and share this video.

Step-by-step and action-by-action, we can work together to solve this water crisis and so much more…because water is just the beginning
