Life can be a whirlwind.

Feel ALL Your Feelings

Life is filled with moments of joy and connection, but it’s also messy, overwhelming, and disappointing at times. When challenges happen in our lives, the first thing we often forget is the very thing that could help us: the tools and practices that bring us back to feeling calm, clear, and centered.

Can you relate?

I’ve been there — more times than I can count. I’ve struggled with depression, body shame, and disordered eating. I’ve carried the heaviness of heartbreak and the exhaustion of trying to meet the world’s impossible standards. I’ve lived in places that didn’t feel like home, stayed in an unhappy marriage far too long, and spent years hoping others would see my value and worth.

But here’s the thing: Even in my darkest moments, I always knew there was light and love within me.

This blog post is about how we can forget our tools when life feels like it’s falling apart and how we can “remember to remember” to find our way back to inner peace, strength, and clarity. I’m sharing insights and practices that helped me transform my life so you can use them to transform yours.

When the Tools Feel Out of Reach

When we feel overwhelmed, sad, angry, disappointed, or lonely, it’s easy to forget the very tools that keep us grounded. Those old stories and patterns creep in, whispering familiar lies like, “You’re not enough” or, “It’s always going to be this hard.”

For me, those whispers used to sound like this:

  • “Eating is overrated.”
  • “No one will love you if you’re fat.”
  • “You’ll never be enough.”

It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

But here’s what I’ve learned: Forgetting isn’t failing. Forgetting is human. And the real magic comes in learning how to remember to remember.

My Process for Reclaiming Inner Peace

I Love May - Stacey Hoffer

Over time, I’ve learned how to guide myself back when I’ve felt untethered. I use ancient feminine wisdom, evidence-based mental health practices, and practical tools to ground myself, reconnect with my essence, and find clarity.

This process works because it’s not about perfection. It’s about meeting yourself exactly where you are — with self love, grace, and curiosity. Here’s a peak into what it looks like:

Pause and Acknowledge

When life feels overwhelming, the first step is to pause. Take a deep breath and acknowledge what’s happening. Ask yourself:

  • What am I feeling right now?
  • What’s causing this reaction?
  • What do I need in this moment?

Sometimes just naming your emotions can shift you out of the strong emotions.

Ground Yourself

Once you’ve paused, use grounding practices to bring yourself back to the present moment. This might look like:

  • Placing your feet firmly on the ground and taking three deep breaths.
  • Using sensory awareness — focusing on what you see, hear, feel, taste, and smell.
  • Practicing a short meditation to calm your nervous system.

I’ve created soul-soothing meditations that work wonders in these moments. They’re simple, accessible, and designed to help you reconnect with your inner peace.

Reconnect with Your Essence Self

Shift your focus inward. This is where ancient feminine wisdom meets evidence-based mental health tools. Journaling, guided visualization, or even asking yourself, “What is real in this moment?” can help you tap into your inner wisdom.

Choose Growth Over Old Patterns

The old stories and patterns will try to sneak back in — that’s their nature. But you get to choose. Every moment is an opportunity to step into healing and growth.

When those old thoughts or emotions resurface, remind yourself: This isn’t who I am. This is just an old story. Reach out to someone who knows the essence of who you truly are.

Living a Life You Love

Stacey Hoffer inner Peace

This process has transformed my life. I’m not saying my life is perfect — far from it. Life has its ups and downs, and I still forget my tools sometimes. But now, I know how to find my way back.

I’ve chosen to live a life I love. Yes, sometimes I still cry. Yes, sometimes I feel lonely. And… my life is filled with freedom, joy, and inner peace. Here’s what I want you to know: if I can do this, so can you.

No matter how far you feel from your authentic self, the wisdom, strength, and inner peace you’re seeking are already within you. Sometimes, you just need a little guidance to access them.

I say it all the time, and it continues to be true, if me sharing my story, ancient feminine wisdom, and evidence based mental health best practices helps only one person cultivate inner peace and live in alignment with their essence self… then I have lived my purpose.
