Practicing self care is a learned ability for many.
It certainly is for me.
Something I’ve found is that once you learn how to take better care of yourself, the problem then becomes committing to doing it over time on a regular basis and as often as it takes to keep you from falling off the edge of sanity. None of us likes dangling off the edge by our finger tips with tears welling up and the overwhelming fear of everything falling apart if we lose our grip.
I’m not going to offer you the top 5 list of things to do to practice self care . Things like hot baths and reading your favorite book are great ideas and can work wonders to revitalize a person, but you’ve heard that before.
I’m going to ask you what matters.
What allows you the space to forget all else? Even for just a little while.
This is what you need to be doing! The thing that takes you away for a while. The rope that pulls you up off the cliff and out of the void below your dangling feet.
So, where’s your rope?
