Mindfulness for Kids

Mindfulness for Kids

My kids are not thrilled but I just signed us up for this free 8-week Mindfulness Program to Build a More Compassionate and Conscious Family, which is being hosted by The Chopra Center.

Yes. I’m going to be that mom who makes her kids “spend time being mindful” before they can be on screens this summer.

I received this free invitation in my email inbox this morning and wanted to share it all with you.

Kids aren’t always as excited as we are about mindfulness practices, like meditation and yoga. But children have a lot to gain from learning how to cultivate mindfulness on their own.

Giving kids the tools to help them fend off negative thoughts and behaviors, build self-confidence, focus, and treat others and themselves with respect and appreciation is a gift they will have for the rest of their lives.

Mindfulness programs are popping up in schools nationwide, and studies are surfacing that reveal their positive impact on academic performance, stress levels, and emotional maturity. The tricky part is figuring out how to get the whole family on board. How do you present yoga and meditation to kids in a way they will actually enjoy … and even look forward to?

Sign up for Mindfulness for Kids to find out. This eight-part program is designed to give you tools and techniques that you can use as a family. We’ll be exploring: Meditations for Children, Kid-Friendly Yoga and Breathing Practices, Mindful Parenting Tips, Stress, Anxiety, and ADHD Management Tools for Children (without medication), and Emotional Intelligence and Compassion Cultivation Exercises.

The summer is the best time of year to focus on the important lesson of mindfulness. Each week for eight weeks, we’ll reveal one thing to focus on with your family. The program is completely free of charge—all you have to do is sign up and we’ll get you started.

Let me know if you’ll be joining me on the mindfulness journey.
