Celebrating My Gratitude Attitude
This week I am going to shake up my gratitude journal by acknowledging myself.
Today, I welcome you to acknowledge yourself for something you are doing, what you are accomplishing, and/or an action you have taken towards your goals. Today we are celebrating what you are doing right and what is working in your life.
After you comment and click submit, I invite you think about how it felt to acknowledge yourself.
Here is my list for the week…
- I acknowledge myself for turning my Oprah inspired ideas into reality.
- I acknowledge myself for eating less than 2000 calories a day this week.
- I acknowledge myself for building new partnerships with several bloggers.
- I acknowledge myself for exercising last night.
- I acknowledge myself for significantly reducing processed food from my family’s diet.
- I acknowledge myself for listening to my authentic voice.
- I acknowledge myself for being patient with my two year old when he demands to wear his pajamas to preschool.
Wow. It feels amazing to acknowledge myself for these things. Now it’s your turn!
This is Your Moment.
I welcome you to acknowledge yourself for something you are doing, what you are accomplishing, and/or an action you have taken towards your goals.
Hey Stacey- thanks for including me today!! OK acknowledgment. Tough for me to do:
I am thrilled that I am no longer a prisoner of 9-5. I am doing what I love to do, and doing it with as much passion as I can muster. It is a pleasure to wake up everyday because when you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life.
Thanks Stacey!
Jay´s last blog post..A Friday Tale of Beauty, Link Love, and a Conference
Jay – I am hearing you acknowledge your decision to no longer have a 9-5 job. It must feel great to be living your life with so much passion. Yeah for Jay!
Hi Stacey,
This week, I am feeling more ‘real’ than I have in a long time. And it is both freeing and comforting.
I’m also acknowledging a week in which I’ve embraced and thoroughly enjoyed getting out and guest posting on two other sites. Connections that mean the world to me!
Stacey, I’m loving what you’re doing here – the real and bold steps you’ve taken!! I’m excited to see where this takes you!
Lance´s last blog post..Are These My Skinny Jeans?
Hi Stacey,
Your passion for what you’re doing is infectious! I’m full of admiration for your initiative in putting your desires into action. Can’t wait to see the progress of your blog this year.
I acknowledge myself for going jogging and then bathing my dog yesterday, and taking my little nephew to the arcade this morning. So much in my life to keep me busy and happy!
Daphne´s last blog post..How Does Your Life Script Read?
Lance – Good for you, for incorporating what is freeing and comforting for you into your life. Your guest posts are gifts to this world. Also, I’m excited to see where my blog will take me too! Right now my plan is to be aware and enjoy the ride.
Daphne – You can put your desires into action too! It sounds like you are embracing happiness and joy each and every day.
You did great.
I think your product line is simple, artful, and evocative. The right words, the right colors and the right overall look/feel.
Nicely done. Your passion shines through.
J.D. Meier´s last blog post..Avoid Mental Burnout
I laughed when I read your #7 acknowlegement. My kids can sometimes try me too, when they insist on their own way. It’s not easy to practice patience throughout the whole day. But oh yes, I also acknowledge that I am doing the best I can with them!
Evelyn Lim´s last blog post..HAVE-DO-BE or BE-DO-HAVE?
J.D. – Thank you for your feedback. I truly appreciate your insight.
Evelyn – I laughed (and cried) when I read my #7 acknowledgement too. Having patience for my little ones is a value I honor and strive towards every day. Letting children express themselves is trying but priceless. Good for you, for being aware of how amazing you are as a mom.
I think self-promotion/acknowledgment is incredibly difficult and often permission is needed. I learned the hard way, as a business person, sometimes you must “toot your own horn”. It’s wonderful that you’ve provided permission and a place to do it.
You certainly accomplished a lot this week – congratulations to you!
This week I took 3 steps toward my goal of becoming a media personality; I reached out to different people for networking and collaboration opportunities; I made time for yoga.
Have a great weekend.
I acknowledge myself for spending a week of pure joy with my new grandson Henri.
I acknowledge myself for exercising while in MI.
I acknowledge myself for not judging others.
I acknowledge myself for “lightening up.”
I acknowledge myself for not complaining about MI weather while there.
Tess The Bold Life´s last blog post..40 Simple Ways to Save Money
Stacey Shipman – I didn’t use the word “permission” in my post, but YES I want us all to have permission to self acknowledge our own natural wisdom. You are taking wonderful actions towards your goal and I can tell you are on track to becoming a media personality.
Tess – How did it feel to express your gorgeous list of acknowledgements? I enjoyed reading all you have accomplished this week.
Moving an Idea into Reality! – loved that.
Here is why…. one of my favorite quotes is “The value of an idea lies in the using of it. “ – Thomas A. Edison
Sounds familiar? 🙂
I acknowledge that Imperfect action better than no action (Giovanna’s blog motto). It helps to make an idea into reality perfectly
Alik Levin | PracticeThis.com´s last blog post..Program Yourself For Extremely Fast Performance
Hi Stacey: Congratulations on your new product line. I acknowledge myself for going to the gym every day this week (well, Monday to Friday), and for eating just one desert this week.
Marelisa´s last blog post..Simpleology: The Simple Way to Get Things Done
“I acknowledge myself for being patient with my two year old when he demands to wear his pajamas to preschool.” Haha – just like Evelyn, I had to laugh at that one. I can relate. 🙂
Also, I agree with J.D. about your products – congrats and good luck!
Alik – Thanks for sharing the Edison quote. I’m reading Think and Grow Rich and am fully embracing the process of moving an idea into reality! And I agree whole heartedly that imperfect action better than no action. I love that concept because it gives me the freedom to move and take action!
Marelisa – You are doing great with your exercise program. Yeah for Marelisa!
Vered – The concept that patience is a virtue is not something I take lightly. Glad to know I’m not alone in the world of needing to embrace lots and lots of patience.
Stacey, I really feel what you are doing here. I admire your techniques for motivating people. I have a similar mission at my website. I’m trying to inspire people to create works of art, and build a career out of it. It’s nice to meet another blogger who is directly trying to inspire people.
I acknowledge myself for committing myself to blogging for more than a week now.
I acknowledge myself for making time at 5:00 AM two days in a row for exercising.
I acknowledge myself for finding a little joy in my life where I had very little prior.
Trey Baird´s last blog post..How To Start Modeling
Trey – Inspiring people to create works of art is a wonderful mission. I’m currently taking an online art class and have been enjoying working on my art this week. I can’t wait to check out your blog. It sounds as if you are on the right track towards a life full of joy, exercise, and blogging!
What a great way to keep myself focused on all the good things I’ve done and will do. We expect acknowledgment from other people, but we need to do it for ourselves on a regular basis.
I acknowledge that I’m not perfect, but I’m trying hard to be successful at my job.
I acknowledge that I’m working hard to connect and grow my network in the online world.
Karl Staib – Work Happy Now´s last blog post..What are YOU Grateful for this Past Week?
Karl – Good for you for embracing your imperfection. It is in our imperfection that our true gifts shine. I have been noticing you around the blogosphere and can tell your online network is rapidly growing.

LifeMadeGreat | Juliet´s last blog post..Would You Choose To Be Immortal?
I acknowledge myself for organizing the ENTIRE basement (see today’s post for details), and all the other rooms in the house. Just have 2 rooms left. One of which I am doing today, the other has to wait for my daughter to move her stuff out of on the weekend.
And yes, it felt grrrrrrrreat!

Juliet – I agree! It’s great to see so much self acknowledgement.
Urban Panther – Wow! Good for you! Organizing any amount of space is something to be proud of!

Mindful Mimi´s last blog post..Imagination needs moodling – long, inefficient, happy idling, dawdling and puttering – Brenda Ueland
Hi Stacey! Thanks for ‘acknowledging’ my blog today. I’d like to acknowledge a lesson I feel the Lord is teaching me lately about how important it is to love completely and invest boldly in the lives of others.
Tammie @ Are You For Real?´s last blog post..How Important Is Forgiveness?
Stacey — great idea! I acknowledge myself for:
trying to learn blogging technology when I still remember computers that only had DOS.
patiently opening the door for my cat who can’t remember for 5 minutes that it’s COLD on the porch.
eating only 5 mini Hersey candies with almonds and putting the rest in the freezer (hard to eat them frozen).
stepping away from my computer and going to exercise…right now!
Thanks for the post!
Sara´s last blog post..Blogging: Choosing Your Avatar
Maya – Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words.
Mimi – You are doing fabulous things!
Tammie – It sounds as if you are very connected to your natural inner wisdom.
Sara – It sounds as if your life is full of learning, patience, and control. Thanks for sharing.
I am spending more time with my family.
I am spending more time with myself – meditating.
I am more creative.
I am eating healthier although I’m not yet exercising as much as I should.
I am creating a circle of cyber friends around the blogosphere, surrounding myself with positive thoughts and ideas.
I am getting better every day in every way and I am enjoying myself and the people around me.
Pretty much that is what I celebrate.
Be loved!
buddhaofhollywood´s last blog post..Buddha on "Sex"
Buddha of Hollywood – You have so much to celebrate!
Hi Stacey!
What a powerful idea you have here! We all seek acknowledgment in life, one way or another. And even if it comes from us, it still helps dealing with everyday pains and problems.
Now things I can acknowledge myself for:
Finally starting to get in shape – gym 3 times a week works great.
Getting up early, even though I don’t really have to.
Cutting on laziness 😉
Although done after you blogged it, yesterday was great. I accomplished three goals:
1. Went to 2 places I’m wanted to photo for a while
2. Took the Metro bus to one of them (although I still don’t know how to put my bike on the front of the bus
3. Rode my bike at both locations
Yes, it was a great day full of relaxation and work. It doesn’t get any better…………………:)

Mark – I believe self acknowledgement is underestimated. I acknowledge your dedication to exercise, early rising, and productivity.
Lisa – Your accomplished goals sounds wonderful. I can see how local photography can help you spend more time outside!
Hi Stacey, this week I am grateful for celebrating the Chinese New Year with our (my wife) family and for playing with my daughter after I was home from work.
Thank you Stacey, your post has reminded me to keep in gratitude.

Arswino – Happy Chinese New Year!
BC – Cheers to you for being and feeling alive. Being in the moment (of both sadness and happiness) is something to truly honor.
I am continuing to have success with not smoking – nearly 3 weeks now.
I am putting effort back into blogging and commenting.
I am working on the projects I said I would.
I am absolutely the most broke I’ve ever been in my life, but I’m feeling pretty good anyway.
Thanks for the DM reminder Stacey 🙂
