Celebrating the Choice to Make a Decision
This week I participated in Tom Volker’s free coaching teleclass titled Deciding What Your Want. Inspired by Tom, today I am celebrating my decision to offer life balance related services and products on CreateaBalance.com starting in 2009.
That part of the decision was easy.
The challenging part of this decision is what to offer! I have committed to spending the next 30 days focusing on what services and products to sell on CreateaBalance.com.
Since I am a mother of two little boys, work full-time, and have a passion for life balance, I am looking to offer services and products that are of interest to my readers and that still allow me to practice the art of life balance. I’m taking action! I’ll learn and adjust along the way.
This is where you come in!
Next week I will be throwing myself a Create a Balance Brainstorming Party and I will be asking you to help me brainstorm services and products that will be useful to you and to people interested in practicing the art of life balance. Free goody bags are available for those attending the party.
1/21/09 Update: The party is over. Free Prizes are no longer available.
By April, 2009, I want to be able to say…I am selling products and services on CreateaBalance.com that are manageable for my lifestyle and that people are buying on a consistent basis.

Celebrating My Gratitude Attitude
I keep a weekly online gratitude journal. Every day I write down one thing that I am grateful for and I post my gratitude attitude every Friday.
1. A quiet date with my husband.
2. Being able to curl up on the coach to watch the 3 hour finale of Survivor.
3. Walking in the sunshine.
4. The ability to travel long distances.
5. Snuggle hugs from my children.
6. Not having to pick up the boys from school today.
7. The amazing women who clean my home.
I welcome you to reflect on your week,
see the goodness in your life, and
share what you are grateful for in the comments section.
This is your moment to celebrate!
Welcome new members of the Create a Balance community.
Share your attitude of gratitude!
Let us know how you are celebrating your life this week.
Hi Stacey,
I’m thankful for snow days (yay – one today!!).
I’m thankful for direction and clarity I’m starting to see.
I’m liking a new laptop that I’ve just got setup for myself!
Have a great weekend Stacey!
Lances last blog post..Bounce!
Hi Stacey – Congratulations – I’m glad Tom’s tele-coaching inspired you. I also plan to sell products and services on my blog this year. It took a bit of brainstorming and planning. The trouble is, I’m now getting ideas for too many.
I’ll be happy to join your brainstorming party next Friday – it sounds like a lot of fun.
I am thankful for the two weeks I will have off starting Monday. I never had this much time from work before (aside from unemployment).
I am thankful for the new business opportunities that is coming my way.
I am thankful I was able to get some (warm) clothes for an upcoming trip.
Happy Holidays, Stacey!
Carlas last blog post..Where’s the Beef? | Healthy bodies and Earth
Now that it’s so cold here in NorCal (I know, “cold” is relative), I’m grateful for our warm, dry house!
Happy Holidays. 🙂
Good move and I like how you’re incrementally growing your platform.
Here’s the patterns and practices I’ve seen:
Products
– EBooks
– Online Reports
– Information Kits
Services
– Mentoring (phone/mail/live)
– Team Mentoring (pair up / partner)
– Forums
– Team Blogs (aggregrate related blogs)
The approaches that I’ve seen work are:
– sell an online report (people that failed with adsense, succeeded here)
– write a thick book (pay) to compliment a thin book (free)
– start a forum, host ads
– bootstrap mentoring by starting for free
If you do services, you bind yourself to time. If you do the products, you can free yourself up.
I would recommend finding at least three examples in action that you want to model from, and then ask the people doing it, what their life is like.
J.D.s last blog post..My Favorite Personal Development Books
Lance – These are wonderful things to be thankful for! Enjoy the snow.
Cath – Tom is very inspiring! Maybe we can put our heads together and thrive. I look forward to hearing your ideas.
Carla – Enjoy every minute of your two week vacation and I look forward to hearing more about your new business opportunities.
Vered – I recognize “cold” is relative and that some people are without a warm dry home. We are very fortunate.
J.D. – Wow! Thank you for your overview of patterns and practices you are seeing on the web. I have already developed my first online workshop (that I will be marketing very soon) and can’t wait to start brainstorming and offering other services and products too.
Hi Stacey. I get the feeling that there are some exciting things coming to CreateaBalance.
My gratitude journal: I’m grateful for my woolly socks, coffee with my friend this morning, the tv show 2 and a half men, for making me laugh… a LOT!, Turtles ice cream (that’s what makes those woolly socks even better) 🙂 receiving Christmas cards from my friends, giving Christmas cards to my friends and not having to drive in the snow.
Stacey,
I think it’s a great idea. I will be in Michigan so I don’t know if I can join the party. However I will email some great ideas.
I’m grateful for…
1. My new and healthy grandson Henri Sabastian born yesterday!
2. The proud parents Jon and Niki
3. Flying free on South West ( daughter is flight attendant)
4. The sounds and sights of the holiday season
5. You and your cool blog
Davina – Yes! Exciting things are coming to CreateaBalance.com! Wolly socks are wonderful gifts for our feet!
Tess – You are so kind. It’s hard to know how my blog and my words impact people each and every day. Enjoy celebrating the birth of Henri! I’m also a native of southeast Michigan – we’ll talk.

Very nice website. Looking forward to more great stuff on this community as the year 2009 approaches us. I make an early happy new year to you all.
Andrei – Thank you for visiting CreateaBalance.com.
Last Friday I was on my way home from vacation and the storms in Boston kept me in Miami an extra 24 hours. I was thankful that a cousin, who lives in Miamia, was available to pick us up and host us overnight!
Good luck and congratulations on your decision to sell products and services on the site…I, too, made some tough decisions this year…letting go of what I thought I should do to focus on what really makes sense. It’s exciting!
I look forward to the brainstorm party!
