Benefits of Relaxation for Reducing Stress

Welcome to Day 6 of the Inner Peace Leadership Challenge in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month (Day 1 – Tolerating Distress, Day 2 – Loving Kindness) Day 3 – Peace and Tranquility, Day 4 – Strategies for Lowering Your Stress, Day 5 – Appreciate Yourself)

Today is all about remembering the BENEFITS of RELAXING.

Relaxing is not just a nice to have.

Relaxing is essential for your overall health and well-being. If we choose to ignore our body’s need to relax, we can push ourselves into burnout, overwhelm, exhaustion, depression, anxiety, and chronic stress.

If you push yourself again and again (and again) to the point of exhaustion, then today’s challenge is for you.

Watch this video, or read this article, to learn about the benefits of relaxation for reducing stress.

On a scale from 0 to 10, with 0=relaxing is easy for me and 10=relaxing stresses me out, rate how easy it is for you to practice the art of relaxing.

Then join me in the Inner Peace Leadership Challenge Facebook Group and tell me your WHY for practicing the art of relaxing (even when there’s so much to get done and so much on your do-to list).

p.s. You may be able to hear my high energy teenagers in the background during parts of this video. That’s how we roll around here – choosing to show up authentically, share our gifts and access inner peace, no matter what.
